Taiwan stocks rise 255.30 points

(CNA Taipei, July 8) The Taiwan stock market closed with a gain of 255.30 points today, reaching 45734.41 points, an increase of 0.56%, with a transaction volume of NT$958.346 billion.

The weighted index opened at 45524.69 points, reaching a high of 45837.12 points and a low of 45036.64 points during the session; the index excluding financial stocks was 41059.44 points, up 194.73 points.

Performance of the eight major stock categories: Cement and ceramics stocks closed flat, food stocks fell 0.3%, petrochemical stocks rose 2.96%, textile stocks fell 2.28%, machinery and electrical stocks rose 0.40%, paper stocks fell 0.97%, construction stocks fell 0.34%, and financial stocks rose 1.56%.

Buy orders were 21,011,357 shares, sell orders were 14,331,156 shares, and transactions were 11,163,056 shares.

At the close, there were 409 stocks that rose, 613 stocks that fell, and 82 stocks that remained unchanged.

The top 5 stocks by transaction volume were Yuanta Taiwan Weighted Plus 2X ETF, Innolux, Chi Mei Corporation, AU Optronics, and Fubon Top 50 ETF.
