(CNA, Reporter Jiang Yijun, Chiayi City, July 8) Chiayi Mayor Huang Min-hui announced today that the "22nd Science 168 Education Expo" will be held from July 17 to 21 at Xingjia Elementary School and Minsheng Junior High School. The event will feature 44 special checkpoints and 116 popular science classrooms to foster scientific literacy and inspire innovative thinking through exploration and experience.

The Chiayi City Education Department held a press conference today for the 22nd Science 168 Education Expo of 115 (2026). The event kicked off with a performance by the Minzu Elementary School street dance club and robots. Eight units, including Linsen Elementary School, Chiayi Junior High School, Yushan Junior High School, Chiayi Vocational High School, Chiayi Senior High School, Yongqing Senior High School, Chiayi City Girl Scout Council, and National Chiayi University, set up result display booths on-site. Through fun experiments, interactive games, and practical science applications, they showcased the achievements of Chiayi City in promoting science education.

At the press conference, Huang Min-hui shared her dream of integrating the Science 168 Education Expo with city governance, making it a part of technology education. This would allow children to happily engage with science, fostering future-oriented capabilities and competitiveness through exploration, experience, and innovation.

Huang Min-hui stated that Science 168 is not only a stage for children to explore science but also an important platform for Chiayi City to accompany families in their growth and implement educational foundations. Parents are welcome to bring their children to participate from July 17 to 21 to enhance parent-child interaction through experience.

Guo Tiancai, Director of the Chiayi City Education Department, said that this year's Science 168 activities have been comprehensively upgraded, constructing a complete science learning map with "six major themes and fourteen series of activities." The content covers aspects such as scientific inquiry, digital technology, exploration and experience, and parent-child co-learning. The event will feature 44 special checkpoints and 116 popular science classrooms, along with interactive experiences such as immersive flight simulation, light box transformation show, mobile planetarium, and digital interactive pods. This will allow children to learn through "seeing, touching, and playing," progressing from initial contact and understanding of science to learning to apply science and create the future.

To facilitate public participation, free shuttle services will be provided from July 17 to 21 during the expo. Services will run daily from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with four departures per hour. The shuttle route will travel between the Chiayi Cultural and Creative Industries Park, the side entrance of Tsuiyang Elementary School (Xinmin Road), and Minsheng Junior High School. On weekends, to coordinate with the "Starlight Movie Night" event, shuttle services will be extended to 8:00 PM. (Editor: Li Shuhua) 1150708
