Foreign investors sell over NT$37.9 billion, adjusting active ETFs and buying Evergreen Marine

(CNA) The Taiwan stock market rose 255.3 points today, closing at 45734.41 points. Foreign investors have been net sellers for five consecutive days, selling over NT$37.9 billion today, primarily divesting from CPC Corporation, while also selling active ETFs. On the other hand, they were the top buyers of Evergreen Marine, purchasing over 61,000 shares, and also bought UMC and several financial stocks.

The Taiwan stock market rose 255.3 points today, closing at 45734.41 points, with a transaction value of NT$958.346 billion. The three major institutional investors were net sellers of NT$42.93 billion in total, with proprietary traders selling NT$16.942 billion, investment trusts buying NT$11.961 billion, and foreign and mainland Chinese investors selling NT$37.949 billion.

Notably, foreign investors have been net sellers for five consecutive trading days, with cumulative sales exceeding NT$285 billion. Proprietary traders have also been net sellers for five consecutive days, while investment trusts have been net buyers for 12 consecutive days.

According to public information, among the top 10 stocks with the largest single-day purchases by foreign investors, Evergreen Marine ranked first with over 61,000 shares bought. Cathay Taiwan Select High Dividend (00919) ranked second with over 30,000 shares bought by foreign investors, followed by UMC, First Financial Holding, Acer, SinoPac Financial Holdings, E. Sun Financial Holding, Co-operative Financial Holding, Innolux, and KGI Financial.

Among the top 10 stocks with the largest single-day sales by foreign investors, CPC Corporation ranked first with over 56,000 shares sold. Active Fubon Taiwan Stock Growth (00981A) and Active Fubon Upgrade 50 (00403A) ranked second and third, with approximately 39,000 and 37,000 shares sold respectively. The rest, in order, were Yuanta Taiwan 50 (0050), Fuh-Hwa Taiwan Technology High Dividend (00929), Supreme, Active Fubon Global Innovation (00988A), Formosa Plastics, Yuanta Taiwan 50 Leveraged (00631L), and Compal Electronics.
