(Central News Agency, reporter Wang Bao'er, Taipei, July 8) The historic building of the Air Force Command Center Taiwan Contemporary Culture Laboratory has completed its restoration. The Ministry of Culture announced today that the cultural exhibition of the 2026 Taiwan Cultural Expo will debut in August. In addition to five major exhibition areas within the historic building, the Air Force Command Center Plaza will also feature an entrance art installation.
The Ministry of Culture yesterday led media on a preview of the historic building of the Air Force Command Center Taiwan Contemporary Culture Laboratory, which has undergone three years of restoration. The Command Center Plaza is located in front of the historic building. The Cultural and Creative Industries Expo team has already set up the entrance installation, titled "Don't Rush, You're Doing Great." This installation will use floral tiles and plants as elements to create a landscape art piece, aiming to transform the land from a background into a speaking subject.
The Ministry of Culture stated in a press release today that the annual theme of the Cultural Expo's cultural exhibition, "The Zeroth Bit," responds to the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) and prompts a re-examination of the essence of creativity. This theme unfolds into six concepts—"Time, Land, Action, Turn, Body, Mind-Body"—and a design layout of five major exhibition areas.
Chen Yi-chieh serves as the creative director, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams including Peng Yalu Art and Culture Studio, Middle Research Lab, Select Select Research, Concentric Circle Production, and Tomorrow Production House. The exhibition will integrate Taiwanese cultural IPs, representing the first "thought" that flashes through creators' minds, into the five major exhibition areas, symbolizing how these initial ideas become cultural forces that influence the world.
The cultural exhibition of the 2026 Taiwan Cultural Expo will be held from August 1 to 31 at the historic building and Command Center Plaza of the Air Force Command Center Taiwan Contemporary Culture Laboratory. (Editor: Li Xizhang) 1150708
