Huang Tzu-peng's 27.2 Consecutive Scoreless Innings Could Challenge Pan Wei-lun's Record

He has a chance to challenge Pan Wei-lun's record in his next start.

Huang Tzu-peng has become a stable local starting pitcher for the Hawks in his first year with the team. Although he faced crises in the first 5 innings today, he managed to keep his slate clean. In the 6th inning, he gave up 3 hits and was removed with 2 outs and the bases loaded. However, reliever Li Hsin-ying successfully struck out the batter to freeze the runners and preserve Huang Tzu-peng's scoreless streak.

Huang Tzu-peng, who had 22 consecutive scoreless innings in June, pitched 5.2 scoreless innings in his first start in July, surpassing Liu Hsuan-ta of the Uni-President 7-ELEVEn Lions' 27.1 innings and rising to 6th place for local pitchers in consecutive scoreless innings.
