World Advanced's June Revenue Hits Record High, Powerchip Semiconductor Reaches 47-Month Peak

(CNA, reporter Chang Chien-chung, Hsinchu, July 9) Wafer foundries World Advanced and Powerchip Semiconductor saw their June revenues climb simultaneously. World Advanced's revenue reached NT$5.977 billion, setting a new historical high, while Powerchip Semiconductor's revenue hit NT$6.474 billion, its highest level in 47 months.

World Advanced's self-reported June revenue was NT$5.977 billion, an increase of 40.89% month-on-month and 33.57% year-on-year. World Advanced stated that increased wafer shipments drove its June revenue to a new high.

World Advanced's second-quarter revenue was NT$14.245 billion, meeting expectations and increasing by 13.67% quarter-on-quarter. World Advanced anticipates that its second-quarter wafer shipments will increase by 11% to 13% quarter-on-quarter, with the average selling price of its products increasing by 2% to 4% quarter-on-quarter.

World Advanced's cumulative revenue for the first half of the year was NT$26.776 billion, a year-on-year increase of 13.23%. World Advanced previously indicated that due to long-term strategic planning and a strong entry into the AI sector, its 8-inch wafer foundry capacity is fully booked this year, with customer demand exceeding expectations. The company forecasts that demand will remain robust going forward.

Powerchip Semiconductor's self-reported June revenue was NT$6.474 billion, an increase of 12.19% month-on-month and 68.75% year-on-year. Powerchip Semiconductor stated that the rise in its June revenue was mainly due to increased customer demand, higher sales volume, and price adjustments.

Powerchip Semiconductor's second-quarter revenue was NT$17.29 billion, a quarter-on-quarter increase of 27.39%. Its cumulative revenue for the first half of the year was NT$30.863 billion, an increase of 37.81% compared to the same period last year. (Editor: Chang Liang-chih) 1150709
