Taipei, July 9 (CNA) With Typhoon Bavi approaching, the National Military Museum Preparatory Office of the Ministry of National Defense announced today that it has fully activated its typhoon response mechanism and implemented three key defensive measures. These include comprehensive reinforcement of construction site facilities, sealing of material hoisting openings before the wind and rain arrive, and strengthening personnel inspections to strictly prevent strong winds from entering and rainwater from backing up, ensuring the overall structural safety within.

The Preparatory Office stated on its social media fan pages, including Facebook, that to ensure the safety of the new museum's construction, the engineering team has comprehensively reinforced construction site facilities. All scaffolding, fences, and heavy machinery on site have undergone secondary tightening and lashing to enhance wind resistance. The material hoisting openings, normally used for transporting building materials, were sealed before the wind and rain arrived to prevent strong winds and rainwater from entering the structure.

The Preparatory Office emphasized that safety is the top priority. The management team and inspection personnel have conducted thorough site inspections, clearing silt to facilitate rainwater drainage, and have also secured temporary power supplies. No safety detail has been overlooked to ensure the safety of the construction site during the typhoon. (Edited by Wan Shu-chang) 1150709
