Tigerair Taiwan today announced the introduction of Airbus's latest-generation 'Airspace' cabin design, with the new aircraft scheduled to officially enter service on the 16th.

In a press release, Tigerair Taiwan stated that its newly acquired A320neo fleet (starting with registration number B-50031) will not only continue to incorporate 5% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) during the ferry flight from Airbus's original factory in Toulouse, France, but will also fully adopt the latest 'Airspace' cabin design from Airbus.

The first new A320neo Airspace aircraft was personally received in Toulouse, France, by Tigerair Taiwan's General Manager, Mr. Chang-Hsin Chiu, who led a team to bring the aircraft back.

The new cabin offers passengers a fresh experience from the moment they step onboard. The welcome area features a redesigned door frame, interior panels, and a streamlined ceiling, complemented by LED mood lighting that changes according to boarding, in-flight service, and other scenarios, creating a sense of spaciousness through lighting.

In cabin layout, aerospace-grade flooring with a cool black cloud texture has been introduced in the front and rear areas, breaking away from the monotonous plastic look of traditional cabin floors. This flooring has also been functionally enhanced; due to its use in high-traffic zones, the material's unique micro-textured surface provides better grip with every step.

Regarding seating, Tigerair Taiwan stated that all seats will feature the latest Recaro R2 Swift ergonomic design. The seatback design includes thoughtful features such as dual USB charging ports (Type-A and Type-C) and, to support modern passengers' 'Bring Your Own Device' (BYOD) entertainment habits, smart device holders (PED Holders) have been integrated.

Tigerair Taiwan also stated that the new aircraft's lavatories will feature antimicrobial surfaces and LED white lighting throughout. The forward lavatory will incorporate 'PRM accessible friendly restrooms' with wheelchair ramps, transfer assistance seats, and dual call buttons.

Additionally, a new 'brightness switch' controllable by cabin crew has been added to prevent lavatory lights from automatically dimming when the door opens, thereby enhancing visibility and safety when assisting passengers with mobility challenges.
