U.S.-Iran War Key News

(Taipei, Washington, 13th – comprehensive foreign report) Former U.S. President Donald Trump vowed today to impose fees on all cargo shipments transiting the Strait of Hormuz to compensate for the costs of maintaining the strait’s security, and announced the resumption of a blockade against Iranian vessels.

Trump wrote on his social media platform 'Truth Social' that the Strait of Hormuz is open and will remain open, unaffected by Iran.

He emphasized that the U.S. will reinstate the 'Iran Blockade'—a measure targeting only Iranian ships and their clients, restricting their entry and exit. All other nations will continue to enjoy fair and open access to the strait.

Trump stated that the U.S. will henceforth be known as the 'Guardian of the Strait of Hormuz.' However, for fairness, the U.S. will claim 20% of all transported goods as compensation to cover all costs required to maintain security and stability in one of the world’s most volatile regions.

He concluded by announcing that the relevant procedures and organizational efforts will begin immediately. 'Thank you all for your attention to this matter,' he added. (Translation: Chen Cheng-chien) 1150713
