Heavy Rain Alert for New Taipei City, Central Taiwan, Nantou, and Hengchun Peninsula

(Taipei, July 13, CNA) The Central Weather Bureau issued a heavy rain alert, warning of the possibility of short-duration heavy rainfall due to the development of convective clouds in the afternoon. There is a possibility of localized heavy rain or torrential rain in New Taipei City today, and a possibility of localized heavy rain in areas north of Taichung, Nantou, and the Hengchun Peninsula.

The bureau has called for awareness of lightning and strong winds, and has warned of the possibility of landslides, falling rocks, and sudden rises in stream water levels in mountainous areas, as well as flooding in low-lying areas. (Edited by Guan Zhongwei) 1150713
