The former office building and command center of the Air Force Headquarters have recently completed restoration. Today, the Ministry of Culture unveiled the 'Cultural Air Headquarters' brand identity, announcing that starting in August, the public will be invited into the site through the 'Clear Sky Season 2026' event. Content from last year's Osaka Culture Expo will also be presented in Taiwan.

The Osaka Kansai Expo was a major global cultural event last year. At the time, the Ministry of Culture launched the 'We TAIWAN: Taiwan Culture at Osaka Kansai Expo' program, introducing Taiwan through diverse cultural and artistic expressions. Civil society also initiated crowdfunding campaigns to support Taiwan’s presence in Japan, attracting widespread online attention and public demand to experience the Osaka Expo content back in Taiwan.

In today’s press release, the Ministry of Culture announced that 'Clear Sky Season 2026' will feature the highly anticipated 'Osaka Expo Returns to Taiwan.' Since 2018, the Ministry has formally taken over operations of the Air Force Headquarters through the Foundation of Living Aesthetics, developing it into the 'Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab.' With the restoration of the core area’s former office and command buildings now complete, the site will be artistically reconnected across spaces under the concept of 'art as a thread.' The 2026 Clear Sky Season will mark the full public and international opening of the 'Cultural Air Headquarters.'

Lin Kun-ying, co-founder of豪华朗机工 (Hao Hua Lang Ji Gong), will serve as the Chief Curator of Clear Sky Season 2026. Lin stated, 'The Clear Sky Season will be a pivotal cultural connectivity initiative following the full activation of Cultural Air Headquarters.' The curatorial theme is 'We Meet in Flight,' with the event spanning four months.

Lin revealed that the program will include Taiwan animation screenings continuing from the Culture Lab, dome theater (DOME) experiences, land art, performing arts, and markets. It will also gather international exhibitions such as the Taiwan Cultural Expo and Taipei Fashion Week, allowing the public to fully experience the arrival of 'Cultural Air Headquarters' as a national-level cultural hub.

The Ministry also unveiled the brand identity for 'Cultural Air Headquarters' and the main visual for 'Clear Sky Season 2026,' designed by Yan Bojun, founder of San Ye Wen Co. The dual-wing design of the logo echoes the historical memory of the Air Force Headquarters. The central geometric pattern transforms the red-and-white brick motif from the 'Art Wall Project' during the Culture Lab era. The lower radiating structure reflects runways, flight paths, and a forward-looking direction toward the future.

'Clear Sky Season 2026' will run from August 1 to November 15, with the official website launching today. (Editor: Guan Zhongwei) 1150713
