(Central News Agency reporter Jiang Mingyan, Taipei, July 14) The Zhonglian Oils case continues to escalate. Xiang Ji Guang Group announced today that during the April to June period under expanded investigation by regulatory authorities, it did not purchase or use the abnormal oil batches announced by Taiwan's Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Regarding 15 entries released by Changhua County Health Bureau involving Xiang Ji Guang's related storage locations, the actual purchased batches differ from the announced abnormal batches. The company will formally request a recheck on the 15th.
Amid growing public concern over the Zhonglian Oils case, Xiang Ji Guang Group issued a statement today, immediately activating its food safety response mechanism and launching a comprehensive traceability audit. The group has fully reviewed internal procurement systems, delivery documents, supplier shipping records, production schedules, and inventory data for its brands, including 'Ji Guang Xiang Xiang Ji,' 'Kinshi Han no Suke,' and 'Nihonbashi Kaisendon Tsuji Han.'
Xiang Ji Guang stated that upon receiving the information, it immediately inspected existing oil inventory and usage at its central kitchen and all outlets, finding no batches matching the abnormal oil products announced by the FDA.
Furthermore, based on the FDA's expanded investigation data on oil distribution from April to June 2026 (Minguo Year 115), the company cross-verified its procurement, delivery, inventory, and usage records during this period. It confirmed that the actual purchased and used oil batch numbers were not among those listed as abnormal by the FDA.
Regarding the 'List of Downstream Businesses Affected by Oil Products from April to June' published by Changhua County Health Bureau, 15 entries involve Xiang Ji Guang Group's related storage points.
Xiang Ji Guang stated that after individual verification, although the oil products share the same expiration dates as the listed items, the actual purchased batches differ from the abnormal batches announced by the FDA. The company will formally request Changhua County Health Bureau on the 15th to assist in rechecking procurement and distribution data to clarify the list information and will promptly inform the public based on the regulatory authority's findings.
Xiang Ji Guang added that the Dacheng oil it uses has been tested by SGS, showing benzo[a]pyrene (BaP) levels compliant with food safety and hygiene standards. In addition to inspecting oil products, the group has also expanded audits to other goods and raw materials. Despite no current evidence indicating the use of the abnormal oil batches, the company has proactively implemented preventive measures.
Xiang Ji Guang noted that 'Ji Guang Xiang Xiang Ji' immediately took preventive measures by removing tartar sauce, creamy spicy sauce, and honey mustard sauce from shelves. Supply will be reassessed only after confirming raw material sources and test results. 'Kinshi Han no Suke' and 'Nihonbashi Kaisendon Tsuji Han' have fully switched to Japan-imported salad sauces.
