Key News on US-Iran Conflict

Central Report

(Washington, 14th - CNA & International News Agencies) US President Donald Trump warned that unless Iran returns to the negotiating table, the United States will bomb Iran's power plants and bridges 'next week.'

In an interview with Fox News today, Trump said, 'We will hit them hard tomorrow night, and the night after that as well.'

He added, 'Next week, their situation will become very bad, because next week it will be power plants, next week it will be bridges. Unless they are willing to come to the negotiating table, we will completely destroy all their power plants and blow up all their bridges.'

According to reports from CNN and AFP, this is not the first time Trump has threatened to bomb Iran's power plants and bridges. He has frequently used such strong rhetoric as a negotiation tactic in the past, though not always following through.

US and Iranian representatives are still in talks, but the Trump administration says negotiations cannot progress while Iran restricts passage through the Strait of Hormuz.

The US military conducted its fourth consecutive day of airstrikes against Iran today and has imposed a naval blockade on the country's ports.

The ceasefire agreement signed by the US and Iran on June 17 was already fragile and is now effectively collapsed.

When asked how long the US airstrikes would continue, Trump replied, 'They will continue until I say stop.'

Trump did not rule out the possibility of sending ground troops into Iran, but said, 'I don't want to do that.'

He said, 'Sometimes ground military action is indeed necessary, but in fact, we have other allied countries that will carry out ground missions for us.' However, he did not specify which countries would be willing to send troops. (Translation: Tsai Chia-min) 1150715
