(CNA reporter Wang Chao-yu, Yilan, April 14) A decomposed body was found yesterday inside a tent on the beach behind the Zhuangwei Tourist Service Center in Yilan County. Police said today that there were no signs of struggle at the scene, and foul play has been preliminarily ruled out. Since the deceased carried no identification documents, authorities are continuing efforts to identify the person.

Yesterday, members of the public were enjoying the beach behind the Zhuangwei Tourist Service Center when they noticed a foul odor carried by the wind. Following the smell, they discovered a severely decomposed body inside a tent used for eel fishing and immediately reported it to the police. The Jiaoxi Police Substation received the report at around 6 p.m. yesterday and promptly dispatched officers to the scene. They set up a cordon and sent forensic experts to collect evidence.

Upon examination, police confirmed the deceased carried no identification. Due to the advanced state of decomposition, the identity cannot yet be confirmed. No signs of struggle were found at the scene, and foul play has been preliminarily ruled out.
