Taipei Metro Company stated today that there have been recent online reports from passengers noting occasional water droplets at air conditioning vents while riding the Tamsui-Xinyi or Wenhu lines. The company explained that this is a normal physical phenomenon known as 'condensation,' and there are no equipment abnormalities or leaks.
According to Taipei Metro, due to the hot weather and high humidity, when trains operating on elevated or ground-level sections—such as the Tamsui-Xinyi and Wenhu lines—arrive at stations and doors open and close, outdoor air enters the carriages. When this moist air comes into contact with the cold metal surfaces around the air conditioning vents, it easily condenses into small water droplets.
The company compared this to water droplets forming on the outside of a cold beverage cup, commonly known as 'condensation water,' which is a normal physical occurrence. They emphasized that the equipment is functioning properly and there are no issues. (Editor: Li Xi-zhang) 1150714
