According to CNA reporter Chang Chien-chung in Taipei on the 14th, major U.S. stock indices closed lower on the 13th. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index, closely linked to Taiwan's market, dropped 619.38 points. Financial institutions noted that while Taiwan's stock market rose 25.91 points to close at 45,380.52 on the 13th, the overnight session of Taiwan stock futures fell 507 points, suggesting that the market may face a critical battle to defend the 45,000-point level today.

Escalating military conflict between the U.S. and Iran weighed on U.S. stocks. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 138.37 points, or 0.26%; the S&P 500 dropped 60.05 points, or 0.79%; the Nasdaq Composite declined 408.43 points, or 1.55%; and the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index plunged 619.38 points, or 4.78%.

On the industry front, foundry giant TSMC reported its self-compiled revenue for June at NT$442.68 billion, a record high. Its Q2 revenue reached NT$1.27 trillion, also a quarterly record. TSMC's American Depositary Receipts (ADR) fell by $12.53, or 2.89%.

Taiwan's Ministry of Finance reported that real estate-related tax revenues showed mixed trends in the first half of the year. Notably, the individual real estate integrated tax (Land-Value Added Tax) turned positive for the first time in 14 months, with net collections reaching NT$4.5 billion, showing both year-on-year and month-on-month growth.

June financial reports from Taiwan's three major telecom operators have been released. Taiwan Mobile benefited from AI-driven efficiency improvements and investment gains, posting an EPS of NT$0.52, outperforming Chunghwa Telecom's NT$0.46 and Far EasTone's NT$0.38. Taiwan Mobile's first-half EPS reached NT$2.86, making it the most profitable among the three.

Heavy electrical equipment manufacturer Huatech reported June revenue of NT$1.729 billion, up 17.1% month-on-month but down 25.8% year-on-year. Its Q2 revenue reached NT$5.455 billion, up 14.7% quarter-on-quarter, the second-highest for the period in history. Siden reported June revenue of NT$3.109 billion, up 1.95% MoM and down 10.6% YoY, also the second-highest for the period.
