(Central News Reporter Zhang Jianzhong, Taipei, April 14) Today, the Taiwan stock market opened lower and fluctuated downward due to the simultaneous weakness in the electronics, financial, and traditional industries. The index temporarily fell by 1506.39 points, breaking the 44000-point mark and reaching a low of 43874.13 points.

As of 10:43 AM, the Taiwan Stock Exchange Capitalization Weighted Stock Index was at 44126.24 points, down 1254.28 points, with a turnover of NT$686.8 billion.

TSMC's American Depositary Receipts (ADR) fell by 2.89%, and TSMC's stock price also fell in line with the market. In the early trading session, it tested support at 2400 yuan, down 40 yuan, with a market value reduced to NT$6.23 trillion, impacting the overall market by approximately 317 points.

MediaTek, Delta Electronics, Hon Hai, ChipMOS, Gigabyte, and Asustek, among others, saw their electronics heavyweight and high-priced stocks weaken, with the electronics stock index once falling by over 3.5%.

For traditional industry stocks, the glass stock index plummeted by over 7%, the mechanical and electrical stock index fell by over 6%, and the cable stock index also declined by over 3%; the plastic stock index fluctuated and turned red during the session, showing relatively strong resistance.
