(CNA reporter Su Mu-chun, Taichung, April 15) Premier Cho Jung-tai attended the event hosted by the Asia Taiwan Chambers of Commerce United Association today, stating that the organization has long served as a vital bridge, supporting its members and contributing to national development. The government, he said, is committed to building more reliable international markets and will assist Taiwanese businesses in expanding globally.

The 33rd Asia Taiwan Chambers of Commerce United Association held the opening ceremony of its board and supervisory joint meeting in Taichung today. Cho was joined by Minister of Labor Hung Shen-han, Overseas Compatriot Affairs Commission Chairperson Hsu Chia-ching, Taichung Mayor Lu Hsiu-yen, Legislative Yuan Vice President Chiang Chi-chen, and Asia Taiwan Chambers of Commerce United Association President Chen Shu-chin.

In his speech, Cho highlighted that for 33 years, the Asia Taiwan Chambers of Commerce has played a crucial bridging role in supporting members and assisting the nation. Amid global industrial chain restructuring, geopolitical tensions, and digital and net-zero transitions, Taiwan has managed to maintain strong economic growth despite challenges such as U.S. tariff negotiations and international conflicts.

Cho emphasized the importance of linking domestic industries with global supply chains. While the shift from heavy investment in China to market diversification has involved transitional pain, this transformation will align Taiwan more closely with the international community and help develop more reliable international markets. The government, he pledged, will support businesses in expanding overseas.

Beyond semiconductors, Cho noted that the government is promoting the AI-driven 'New Ten Major Projects,' upgrading small and medium-sized enterprises, developing the international defense industry and unmanned vehicle sector, and safeguarding the personal safety of overseas nationals while preserving and cherishing Taiwan's democratic achievements.

He urged citizens to recognize that 'Team Taiwan' is more than a slogan—it means striving for 'Taiwan Number One' through concrete actions and deepening love for the Republic of China (Taiwan). Echoing the final lines of the national anthem, he called for unwavering unity and dedication to Taiwan.

Chen Shu-chin stated that the mission of the Asia Taiwan Chambers is not only to promote member exchanges but also to serve as a key platform connecting overseas Taiwanese entrepreneurs with Taiwan and the world. She expressed hope that the wisdom, experience, and international perspectives accumulated by overseas Taiwanese can return to Taiwan and help co-create new Taiwanese values.
