With the Delivery Special Act set to take effect on July 21, Uber Eats today unveiled its second-half 2026 partner support initiative, centered on three pillars: enhanced safety, greater income flexibility, and closer access to personal aspirations.

To address summer heat, Uber Eats will strengthen safety measures by providing in-app heat stress alerts based on the Labor Ministry’s 'Guidelines for Preventing Heat Hazards in High-Temperature Work Environments.' The company will also continue safety education through workshops, including a collaboration with the Tainan Rescue Association scheduled for September.

On income flexibility, Uber Eats introduced the 'Instant Earnings Withdrawal' feature, allowing delivery partners to withdraw earned trip fees to their linked bank accounts anytime via the partner app—without waiting for weekly automatic transfers. Funds can arrive in minutes, offering greater financial control.

Additionally, Uber Eats is expanding income opportunities through 'Uber Express,' its on-demand package delivery service available via the Uber app. Starting today, Uber Express launches in Hualien, Taitung, and Yunlin, and extends the maximum delivery distance from 12 km to 40 km, significantly broadening access to delivery jobs.

Uber Eats is also launching its first 'Mentorship Program,' where experienced delivery partners will share practical insights and strategies with newcomers. Later in 2024, the company plans to roll out the 'Delivery Partner Dream Initiative,' divided into two categories: 'New Life Chapter' and 'Caring Journey.'

'New Life Chapter' will support partners using delivery work as a springboard for entrepreneurship, education, skill development, or craft传承. 'Caring Journey' will assist partners seeking to improve family living conditions or overcome physical challenges, with direct resource support to enhance quality of life. The Dream Initiative is expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2024.

Uber Eats noted that since 2023, the number of delivery partners in Taiwan has stabilized at around 80,000 per month. Data over the past five years shows high mobility within the workforce.
