According to reports from Central News Agency, a 54-year-old man surnamed Cheng checked into a hotel in Zuoying District, Kaohsiung, on the 8th, with a planned checkout date of the 11th. However, as he had not vacated the room by the 12th, hotel staff entered to investigate and discovered him lying motionless on the bed. After receiving no response to verbal attempts to rouse him, staff immediately called emergency services at 119.
The Zuoying Police Station of the Kaohsiung City Police Department stated that they received a report around 11:00 a.m. regarding a guest suddenly falling ill at a hotel on Liwen Road. Officers arrived promptly at the scene. Emergency medical personnel confirmed the man was deceased upon arrival and did not transport him to a hospital. Police then dispatched forensic investigators to collect evidence.
Initial investigations revealed no visible external injuries on the man's body, and no signs of a struggle were found at the scene. Authorities are now contacting the deceased's family members and have notified the Qiaotou District Prosecutors Office to conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. The investigation remains ongoing.
