(Central News Agency Reporter Wu Ruiqi Taoyuan, July 6) Taoyuan Mass Rapid Transit Company today released "MRT Rhythm - Listening to the Sounds of the Land" station entry theme music, expanding from the original 2 stations to 7 stations. Through re-arranged Hakka, indigenous, and classic Taiwanese melodies, it creates a soundscape for travelers entering the gateway to the nation.
Taoyuan Deputy Mayor Su Junbin attended the press conference in Dayuan District today. In his speech, he stated that in addition to fulfilling commuting functions, the Airport MRT also carries the responsibility of showcasing the characteristics of the city and the nation. Three years ago, the city government collaborated with Longtan Philharmonic to introduce the station entry music "Wang Chun Feng" at stations A12 and A13, which received positive feedback. Now, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, it has been expanded to 7 stations, allowing travelers to experience Taoyuan's diverse cultural characteristics as soon as they enter the station.
Su Junbin believes that MRT stations and carriages are not just transportation spaces, but also important venues for human interaction. He hopes to inject cultural elements into public transportation through music. This project also combines Longtan Philharmonic and local music talents, with composer Zhang Yanzhe participating in the creation and providing more opportunities for young performers to observe and perform.
Director of the National Hsinchu Living Art Museum, Ye Yuzheng, pointed out that the project includes three major aspects: the essence of music, regional culture, and educational communities. It breaks down the distance from art, integrates classical music, jazz, and local melodies, and connects 7 stations along the MRT line, presenting different cultures such as indigenous peoples, Hakka, sports, and urban history. At the same time, it connects school teachers and students, parents, and travelers, realizing the vision of integrating art into daily life. Taoyuan, as a gateway city, is the first impression international travelers have of Taiwan. Through "Listening to the Sounds of the Land," the world can begin to experience Taiwan's cultural aesthetics and its authentic local appearance through sound.
Taoyuan Metro stated that Zhang Yanzhe has created 7 station entry music pieces, each 30 seconds long, by innovatively adapting well-known original songs, giving each station its own "sound business card." Among them, A21 Huanbei Station and A22 Laojie Creek Station are adapted from "Climb a Mountain" composed by Chen Tingquan and excerpts from "Longtan Impression" composed by Li Zheyi, respectively, presenting the Hakka culture of Taoyuan's southern district. A19 Taoyuan Sports Park Station is adapted from "Team Taiwan" composed by Yu Qinqin, showcasing the vitality of Taoyuan as a baseball city.
In addition, A17 Linghang Station is adapted from "Ancient Melody of the Atayal Indigenous People," interpreting Taoyuan's indigenous culture. A12 Airport Terminal 1 Station and A13 Airport Terminal 2 Station are adapted from Deng Yuxian's compositions "Rainy Night Flower" and "Moonlit Sorrow," respectively, conveying the charm of classic Taiwanese music. A4 Xinzhuang Fuduxin Station is adapted from "Old Dreams New Makeup" composed by Cai Hongyi, integrating the humanistic history of Xinzhuang Old Street with the imagination of the city's new look.
