Iran: Closes Strait of Hormuz Until US Unblocks Ports, Approaching Vessels Will Be Targeted

According to a report by CNN, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) statement read: "Approaching the Strait of Hormuz will be considered as cooperating with hostile forces, and any vessel violating the order will be targeted for attack."

This statement also warned: "All vessels must not leave their anchorages in the Persian Gulf or the Gulf of Oman."

The IRGC criticized the continuous US blockade of Iranian ports as a "violation of ceasefire conditions" and called US President Donald Trump's statement regarding the Strait of Hormuz "completely invalid," urging all vessels and their owners to act solely based on the latest information released by Iran.

CNN previously reported that a senior Iranian official revealed Tehran would prioritize the passage of vessels that pay fees through the Strait of Hormuz, while those who do not pay will face "delayed" transit.

According to an Agence France-Presse (AFP) report, Iran's Supreme National Security Council also stated earlier: "Iran has decided to continuously monitor and control the traffic situation in the Strait of Hormuz until the war ends completely."

The Council emphasized that the US blockade of Iranian ports and vessels has precluded the possibility of a "conditional and limited reopening" of the Strait of Hormuz.

The Council also mentioned that if the strait is reopened, Tehran will issue transit passes to vessels while demanding payment of fees related to security, maritime safety, and environmental protection services. (Compiled by Hong Peiying) 1150419
