Accelerating US Market Expansion: Tesla Robotaxi Enters Dallas and Houston

According to a Reuters report, Tesla released a message via its official autonomous taxi account on X, accompanied by two videos demonstrating its best-selling Tesla Model Y driving in these two cities without a human driver or safety operator in the front seat.

Tesla also marked the service coverage areas on two maps but did not disclose details such as the fleet size or pricing structure.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk reposted the message, saying, "Try the Tesla Robotaxi in Dallas and Houston!"

Meanwhile, the autonomous taxi industry is regaining momentum, with Alphabet's Waymo (Google's parent company) and Amazon's Zoox both accelerating the development of this emerging business.

Expanding the autonomous taxi service and broader adoption of its Full Self-Driving (FSD) system are at the core of Tesla's growth strategy. Musk has gradually shifted the company's focus from electric vehicles to artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics-related applications.

Tesla initially launched a small-scale autonomous taxi service in certain areas of Austin, equipped with safety monitors and implementing other restrictions, before gradually expanding the service area and reducing human intervention.

Furthermore, Tesla also introduced a ride-hailing service in the San Francisco Bay Area last year.
