Cheng Li-wen Concludes China Visit, Seen Off by Song Tao

Cheng Li-wen visited mainland China from the 7th to the 12th, traveling to Jiangsu, Shanghai, and Beijing for visits and meeting with local leaders. Her visit to the Xiaomi Auto factory this morning was the last stop on her Beijing itinerary.

CCP officials who saw her off today also included Deputy Director of the Taiwan Affairs Office Peng Qing'en, member of the Standing Committee of the CCP Beijing Municipal Committee Ma Jun, Director of the TAO's Liaison Bureau Yang Yi, and Director of the TAO's Information Bureau Chen Binhua.

The most important part of Cheng Li-wen's visit to China was the 'Cheng-Xi meeting' with CCP General Secretary Xi Jinping. Their public speeches extensively discussed the 'Chinese nation' and reiterated their common political stance of adhering to the '1992 Consensus' and opposing Taiwan independence. Two days after the meeting, on the 12th, the CCP's Taiwan Affairs Office announced 10 measures for Taiwan, involving issues such as cross-strait direct flights and tourism.
