China Announces 10 Taiwan-Related Measures; MOEA: Taiwan Will Follow Its Own Goals

Kuomintang (KMT) Chairwoman Cheng Li-wun ended her visit to mainland China and returned to Taiwan this afternoon. In the morning, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the CPC Central Committee announced multiple Taiwan-related policy measures. These include promoting the resumption of a pilot program for residents of Shanghai and Fujian Province to travel to Taiwan individually, pushing for the full normalization of cross-strait passenger flights, supporting the participation of Taiwanese agricultural and fishery products in various exhibitions in the mainland to expand sales channels, and supporting small and medium-sized Taiwanese enterprises in legally expanding into the mainland market.

In response to these China-related measures, the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) stated that Taiwan's economic development continues to follow the principle of "being based in Taiwan, strategically planning globally, and marketing to the whole world." According to the latest forecast by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on April 10, Taiwan's GDP growth rate in 2026 is projected to be 7.6%, while China's is 4.6%, demonstrating that Taiwan's overall economy possesses good resilience and momentum.

The MOEA emphasized that Taiwan will follow its own goals to continuously develop the Five Trusted Industries and the Top Ten AI Infrastructures, while taking care of the development of domestic small and medium-sized enterprises and promoting domestic demand growth.
