Agence France-Presse reported that Benjamin Netanyahu visited southern Lebanon as Lebanese, Israeli, and American officials were scheduled to hold direct talks in Washington two days later.
In a video released by his office, Netanyahu stated, "The war continues, including in the security zone in Lebanon." The video shows Netanyahu wearing a bulletproof vest, surrounded by masked soldiers.
He said, "Through this security zone, we have prevented the threat of invasion from Lebanon." He also mentioned that he was accompanied by Defense Minister Israel Katz and IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir during the visit.
Netanyahu pointed out that the IDF's ground operations in southern Lebanon have helped to "deter the danger of Hezbollah's rocket attacks on northern Israeli communities," adding that the IDF is also dealing with the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas in the area.
Israel's Home Front Command recorded at least 10 rocket attacks from Lebanon today, but no casualties were reported. (Compiled by Ho Hung-ju) 1150413
