The Ministry of Education announced today that it has commissioned National Taiwan Normal University to organize the "Youth Don't Smoke, Life is Longer Without Alcohol" short video contest. This initiative is part of efforts to promote campus health and raise student awareness of healthy behaviors. The contest is open to all university and college students, including master's and doctoral candidates, with a submission deadline from April 14 to September 15. Participants can submit up to two videos, which must be under 1 minute 30 seconds (including a 10-second margin) and include Chinese subtitles. The themes are "Youth Don't Smoke" and "Life is Longer Without Alcohol," encouraging creative expression on the health effects of tobacco and alcohol or strategies for refusing them. The contest will award one Special Excellence prize of NT$12,000, two Excellence prizes of NT$6,000 each, and three Merit prizes of NT$2,000 each. Winners will be announced in early November. The Ministry stated its commitment to continue promoting tobacco and alcohol prevention knowledge among university students and integrating related health issues into school health promotion programs.
