The Railway Police Bureau immediately dispatched officers to the scene upon receiving the report and swiftly arrested the suspect, surnamed Li. The man was emotionally unstable and claimed the incident was caused by the woman blocking his way. The entire case has been referred to the authorities in accordance with the law.
The Taipei Branch of the Railway Police Bureau explained through a press release today that its Nangang Station received a report around 9:45 PM last night. In the B1 concourse of Songshan Station, a female passenger walking was suddenly punched and provoked by a stranger. Officers were immediately dispatched to handle the situation.
After a preliminary investigation, the Railway Police swiftly tracked down the whereabouts of the suspect, Li. He was emotionally unstable and argued that it was because the woman blocked his walking path. He was subsequently arrested as a current offender for causing injury and transferred to the Taipei District Prosecutors Office for investigation.
