Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today that Senator and former President of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, David Kabua, passed away in Honolulu, USA on April 8th at the age of 74. Minister of Foreign Affairs Lin Chia-lung has sent a letter of condolence to his widow, and on behalf of the Taiwanese government and people, expressed deep sorrow to the Marshallese government over Kabua's passing. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Kabua consistently and firmly supported Taiwan-Marshall Islands relations, actively spoke out for Taiwan's international participation, and visited Taiwan multiple times. He was a loyal friend to Taiwan and held a high position in the Marshall Islands. His passing is deeply regrettable, and his character and contributions to Taiwan and the Marshall Islands will be long remembered.
