Trump: Iran to Suspend Nuclear Program Indefinitely, Not Receive Frozen Funds

(Central News Agency, Washington, April 17, International News) According to Bloomberg, US President Trump stated that Iran has agreed to indefinitely suspend its nuclear program and will not receive any frozen funds from the United States.

Trump said in a phone interview today that the agreement aimed at ending the war is largely complete.

He stated that negotiations for a long-term agreement 'may' take place this weekend. 'Most of the major content is finalized, and progress will be quite rapid.'

Trump said he has not yet decided who will lead the US delegation to meet and sign the agreement with Iranian officials.

When asked if he would go to Pakistan, where the last round of negotiations was hosted, he replied: 'I may go.'

Last weekend, US Vice President JD Vance led talks with Iranian officials. Trump mentioned that he is considering sending Vance, along with his son-in-law Jared Kushner and special envoy Steve Witkoff, to participate in the upcoming negotiations.

Trump denied that Iran's nuclear program suspension measures would expire after 20 years.
