(Central News Agency reporter Chen Yu-ting, Taipei, 17th) Feitsui Reservoir will no longer support emergency power dispatch for Taipower because Taipower disagreed to sign a "water consumption compensation fee" contract. Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an said today that this is because the Control Yuan believes that the electricity purchase rate from Feitsui Reservoir by Taipower is too low, which prompted the Feitsui Reservoir Administration to take corresponding measures to ensure the welfare of its citizens.
The Control Yuan issued an investigation report in 2024, pointing out that the Taipei Feitsui Reservoir Administration sells hydroelectric power to Taiwan Power Company, but the agreed billing rate between the two parties is too low. The Feitsui Reservoir Administration later developed a compensation mechanism, stipulating that if Taipower urgently requests Feitsui hydroelectric power, it must be priced at a water consumption compensation fee of NT$3 per ton.
Lin Yu-yi, director of the Taipei Feitsui Reservoir Administration, stated yesterday that due to Taipower's refusal to sign the agreement, Feitsui Reservoir will no longer support emergency power dispatch. He also anticipates promoting the acquisition of hydroelectric green energy certificates and seeking potential cooperative buyers next year to increase revenue for the city treasury.
Chiang Wan-an attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the CF720 section of the Taipei MRT Circular Line East Section today and was interviewed by the media about this matter. He said that because the Control Yuan believes that the electricity purchase rate from Feitsui Reservoir by Taipower is too low, the Feitsui Reservoir Administration has taken this corresponding measure to ensure the welfare of its citizens.
In addition, media reports indicated that a poll showed Chiang Wan-an received the highest favorability among political figures. When asked about assisting other KMT candidates in the年底 elections, Chiang Wan-an said today that if he can help, he will definitely do so, working together for the welfare of the people.
