Middle East Tensions Continue, Kuwait Representative Office Helps 5 Taiwanese Students Depart

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a press release stating that the Ministry and its overseas missions in the Middle East continue to assist citizens who wish to leave the region and return to Taiwan. The Representative Office in Kuwait dispatched personnel on April 4th to accompany five Taiwanese exchange students from Kuwait University's language center throughout their journey overland to Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. The Representative Office in Saudi Arabia then provided necessary living care and assisted them in successfully boarding an Emirates flight from Riyadh on April 6th, transiting through Dubai. The five students are expected to return to Taiwan on the afternoon of April 7th.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained that the situation in the Middle East remains severe, continuously affecting the opening of airspace and the operation of commercial flights in various countries. The Ministry once again urges citizens to temporarily avoid traveling or transiting through relevant high-risk countries in the near future. If there is still a need to travel, please heighten vigilance and register on the "Overseas Compatriots Dynamic Information System" before departure, so that overseas missions can contact and provide assistance promptly.
