(Central News Agency reporter Hao Hsueh-ching, Taichung, 17th) The biennial World Alzheimer's Conference began on the 14th in Lyon, France. Dr. Hsu Ching-Chi, superintendent of Taichung's Weixin Hospital, was invited to present a paper at the conference, and the Taiwan Dementia Association also sent representatives to set up a booth for exchange.

The Alzheimer's Disease International (ADI) conference was held from the 14th to the 16th in Lyon, France, with thousands of medical professionals from over 70 countries attending. The Taiwan Dementia Association also sent a delegation to set up a booth and participate in this international event.

Dr. Hsu Ching-Chi, who was invited to present his paper "The Relationship between Anti-inflammatory Diets and Alzheimer's Disease Mortality" at the conference, explained in a press release that his medical research report, presented entirely in English, attracted interest and discussion from scholars from Germany, Hong Kong, and France after the session.

Hsu Ching-Chi stated that research has shown that a Mediterranean-style diet can prevent the progression of Alzheimer's disease (especially significant for men and non-Hispanic whites), providing a very concrete argument for the medical community on methods to prevent Alzheimer's disease, which is dementia-related mortality.

Hsu Ching-Chi said that this time he also specially brought the national flag of Taiwan (Blue Sky, White Sun, and a Wholly Red Earth) to display at the Taiwan Dementia Association's booth, highlighting the excellence of Taiwan's medical standards.

To successfully arrive in Lyon, France, for his speech, Hsu Ching-Chi deliberately avoided transferring through Dubai, bypassing the war-torn Persian Gulf, and instead transferred through Shanghai directly to France, spending nearly 15 hours to arrive safely and smoothly.

In addition to delivering an English speech at the World Dementia Conference, Hsu Ching-Chi said that during his stay in France, he communicated and exchanged face-to-face with top psychiatric medical teams from 70 countries around the world, sharing Taiwan's achievements in the field of psychiatric medicine. He also hopes that his research results can help more dementia patients improve their quality of life through prevention and enhance the health and well-being of all humanity.
