(Central News Agency reporter Wu Jui-chi, Taoyuan, 19th) Taoyuan City is promoting its affordable housing policy, prioritizing the Zhongli Sports Park development area and the surroundings of Airport MRT A20 and A21 stations. Two social housing projects in the Zhongyun section within the sports park were awarded on April 13, and are expected to break ground by the end of the year and be completed in 130 (2030).

The Taoyuan City Government's Department of Urban Development issued a press release today stating that the city government has drafted the "Taoyuan City Affordable Housing Implementation and Management Autonomous Ordinance" and submitted it to the city council for review. Combined with the Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) strategy, it will be implemented in areas around MRT stations such as the A20 and A21 stations and the Zhongli Sports Park development area. By integrating social housing and affordable housing, citizens with different needs can share high-quality urban functions and living environments.

The Department of Urban Development mentioned that the two social housing projects at lots 50 and 235 in the Zhongyun section are planned as buildings with 3 underground levels and 12 to 13 above-ground levels, with a total project cost of approximately NT$5.01 billion. In the future, they will provide 328 and 306 housing units respectively, featuring one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom layouts. Additionally, about 5% of the units will be reserved as barrier-free layouts. The architectural design also meets multiple certifications for net-zero carbon emissions.

The Department of Urban Development pointed out that the awarded social housing is close to the G26 station of the Green Line extension to Zhongli and Zhongli Railway Station. Nearby is the planned Zhongli Dome, offering excellent location conditions. The two social housing projects also incorporate multiple public service facilities, including a public daycare center, a service center for people with disabilities, and a Social Affairs Bureau South Taoyuan service point, implementing all-age care and a social support system. By connecting with surrounding neighborhoods, social housing will become the core of local community life. (Editor: Chang Ming-kun) 1150419
