President Tsai Ing-wen and Legislator Lai Rui-long visited the Kezailiao Fishing Market yesterday afternoon to purchase fish. The two walked and bought as vendors enthusiastically greeted them. President Tsai frequently stopped to inquire, jokingly saying, 'I want to buy from every stall'; their visit also attracted people for photos, and vendors gifted them much seafood, showcasing the warmth of Kaohsiung residents.

Tsai recalled participating in the 'Kezailiao Fishing Village Rock' event in 2015 and was deeply impressed by the community's vitality unified by music; Kaohsiung is vast, with 38 districts each having unique characteristics and development needs, requiring familiar local leaders to continue working towards more balanced urban development and leveraging unique features.

Lai Rui-long issued a press release today stating that he previously served as the Director of the Marine Affairs Bureau and will create a 'Fishing Kaohsiung Team' in the future, promoting smart fisheries and the 'Kaohsiung Choice Seafood' brand marketing, connecting surrounding areas to develop a blue economy and tourism corridor, allowing the world to see and fall in love with Kaohsiung's high-quality aquatic products.

Lai said that in the past, Tsai Ing-wen and Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai worked together to build Kaohsiung. If he has the opportunity to take on municipal responsibilities in the future, he will continue to cooperate seamlessly with the central government, and gather the strength of local legislator Chiu Chih-wei and various teams to continue striving for more construction projects for Northern Kaohsiung, allowing the city to move forward steadily.
