(CNA Reporter Wu Shu-wei, Taipei, 24th) American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) Deputy Director Karin Lang recently visited Kinmen, meeting with Kinmen County Vice Magistrate Chen Xiang-lin and others to exchange views on cross-strait relations, coordination and cooperation, and community resilience. Lang also visited a steel knife factory famous for forging kitchen knives from artillery shells, praising the blacksmiths for demonstrating Kinmen's resourcefulness and cultural heritage.
AIT released a post on its official Facebook page this afternoon stating that Karin Lang visited Kinmen from the 22nd to the 23rd. She met with Kinmen County Vice Magistrate Chen Xiang-lin and National Quemoy University Vice President Kao Jui-hsin to exchange views on topics such as cross-strait relations, coordination and cooperation, and community resilience.
AIT stated that during her trip, Lang also visited the Kin合利 (Maestro Wu) Steel Knife Factory to understand how local Kinmen blacksmiths continue the tradition of transforming recycled materials into practical utensils. This precisely demonstrates the island's resourcefulness and cultural heritage. (Editor: Hsieh Chia-chen) 1150424
