The Taichung City Police Department announced today that they have arrested four individuals in Tanzi District following random airgun shootings at a furniture store and vehicle windows in Beitun District. On the 20th, a furniture store reported damaged windows. After reviewing surveillance footage, police identified a vehicle with forged plates. Using technology-based investigation, they located the suspects and obtained a search warrant. On the early morning of the 24th, a special task force and SWAT team conducted a raid in Tanzi District, arresting suspects surnamed Wu, Chen, and Wang. They seized one airgun, gun components, steel balls, heroin, and etomidate cartridges. Investigations revealed the group also committed similar acts in Daya and Houli districts on the 20th and 21st. The suspects claimed no prior grudge against the victims and bought the airgun at a survival game store. They face charges under the Firearms Control Act, property damage, public danger, and drug laws.
