Inventec to Invest NT$3.2 Billion in Taoyuan Factory Expansion for AI Server Demand

In response to surging server demand, contract manufacturer Inventec announced today that its board of directors has approved the acquisition of real estate, production equipment, and plant engineering in the Daxi District of Taoyuan City. The total transaction amount is NT$32.75 billion. Inventec told reporters that its existing facilities in Taoyuan are no longer sufficient. This investment aims to expand server production lines, including both general-purpose and AI servers. The production levels will range from L6 (motherboard assembly) to L10 (server assembly and testing), with operations expected to begin by the end of this year. Most shipments will go to data centers in the United States. Inventec General Manager Tsai Chih-an previously noted that AI servers are expected to see double-digit growth this year, driven by L10 and L11 (full system) products. He also predicted that ASIC (application-specific integrated circuit) products will account for over half of the AI server business.
