Traffic Alert: 11 Highway Sections Expected to be Congested on Final Day of Labor Day Weekend

Today marks the final day of the Labor Day long weekend. According to the Bureau of High Speed Roads (高速公路局), while morning congestion was primarily limited to the northbound Yilan-Pinglin section of National Highway 5, eleven sections are expected to be heavily congested this afternoon, including the Xiluo-Puyan System on National Highway 1. As of 11:00 AM, the total traffic volume on all national highways reached 26.3 million vehicle-kilometers, with the full-day estimate reaching 110 million vehicle-kilometers, which is within the predicted range. The Bureau anticipates afternoon congestion on segments of National Highways 1, 3, 5, 4, 6, and 10.
