Tseng Jen-ho sent to minors after strong start; Yeh Chun-chang hopes local pitchers can rival foreign talent

Pitcher Tseng Jen-ho delivered a strong performance in his debut for the Wei Chuan Dragons but was sent down to the minor league today. Despite his 5.2 scoreless innings yesterday, which earned him his first CPBL win in 717 days, manager Yeh Chun-chang explained that the move is part of rotation management. Yeh admitted that local pitchers currently face longer intervals between starts due to the team''s heavy reliance on foreign pitchers such as Andrew Gagnon, Marcelo Martinez, and John Gant. He emphasized that the goal is to improve the overall quality of local pitchers so they can truly compete with foreign talent rather than just filling remaining slots. While Tseng performed well, Yeh believes he is currently only at 70% to 80% of his peak form.
