(Central News Agency, Taipei, 7th) Preparations for US President Trump's visit to China have entered a substantive stage. Hong Kong's Ming Pao today reported that following the recent arrival of a US military C-17 heavy transport aircraft in Beijing, a Chevrolet Suburban with a US federal government license plate was also photographed appearing on the streets of Beijing.

According to the report, an account named HANK posted on social media X on the 6th, stating that US Secret Service vehicles were seen patrolling near Beijing Airport Expressway and the Third Ring Road. The accompanying photos showed a black SUV with a "U.S. GOVERNMENT" license plate on the rear, with "FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY" printed below the license plate.

The report quoted analysis as saying that this is a heavily armored modified Chevrolet Suburban, belonging to the US Secret Service's presidential motorcade.

Analysis pointed out that based on the vertical taillight design, the square rear door lines, and the all-black paint job, such vehicles usually serve as escort vehicles or logistical support vehicles for the US President's motorcade, known as "The Beast," responsible for motorcade security, communications, or personnel transport; equipped with bulletproof armor, night vision systems, self-sealing fuel tanks, and special communication equipment.

Trump is expected to visit China on the 14th to 15th, and at least four US military C-17 transport aircraft have successively arrived at Beijing Capital Airport recently. Such transport aircraft are typically used to transport the presidential limousine "The Beast," communication security systems, and other advance materials.

Before Trump's first visit to China in November 2017, two C-17s also arrived in Beijing. (Editors: Chou Hui-ying / Chen Yen-chun) 1150507
