(Central News Agency reporter Lai Yu-chen, Taipei 7th) The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) plans to launch a "Taiwan Good Life" rural outreach program starting in May, arranging for cabinet members to explain the central government's policy achievements in various counties and cities. This has drawn criticism from the opposition, who accuse the ruling party of abusing administrative power for electioneering. The Executive Yuan today emphasized that explaining policies to the public is inherently the government's responsibility and an important task for the administrative team to communicate with the public.

The DPP's "Taiwan Good Life" rural outreach program is scheduled to begin in May, with cabinet members explaining the central government's policy achievements in various counties and cities. The first event will kick off in Kaohsiung City on May 9th, led by Vice Premier Cheng Li-chun. The second event is expected to be held in Taichung on the 16th, focusing on industrial development policies. The third event will be held in Chiayi County on the 17th, focusing on agricultural issues such as potatoes and peanuts.

Regarding the opposition's accusation that the ruling team is abusing administrative power for electioneering, Executive Yuan spokesperson Li Hui-chih stated at today's post-cabinet meeting press conference that explaining policies to the public is inherently the government's responsibility, and it is a very important task for the administrative team to communicate with the public.

Li Hui-chih said that since Premier Cho Jung-tai took office, he has continuously inspected various county and city constructions and explained policy directions and policies. Recently, he visited Matsu, Taoyuan, and Taichung, constantly informing everyone about the implementation status of small and medium-sized enterprises and local constructions.

As for the arrangements for subsequent outreach activities, Li Hui-chih stated that relevant arrangements will be announced to the public in the future. (Editor: Lin Hsing-meng) 1150507
