Central News Agency (CNA) reporter Lai Yu-chen, Taipei, May 7th) – The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) plans to organize 'Taiwan's Good Life' local outreach events starting in May, arranging cabinet members to explain the central government's achievements in various counties and cities. This initiative has been criticized by opposition parties as an abuse of administrative power for campaign purposes. However, the Executive Yuan today stressed that explaining policies to the public is inherently a government responsibility and an important task for the administrative team to communicate with the public.

The DPP's 'Taiwan's Good Life' local outreach events are scheduled to begin in May, with cabinet members visiting various counties and cities to elaborate on the central government's governance achievements. The first event will kick off in Kaohsiung City on May 9th, led by Vice Premier Cheng Li-chun. The second event is planned for May 16th in Taichung, focusing on industrial development policies; the third will be held on May 17th in Chiayi County, concentrating on agricultural issues such as potatoes and peanuts.

Regarding the opposition's questioning of the ruling team abusing administrative power for campaigning, Executive Yuan spokesperson Li Hui-chih stated at today's post-Cabinet meeting press conference that explaining policies to the public is a government responsibility, and it is a crucial task for the administrative team to communicate with the public.

Li Hui-chih mentioned that Premier Cho Jung-tai has been continuously inspecting various counties and cities since taking office, explaining governance directions and policies. Recently, he visited Matsu, Taoyuan, and Taichung, constantly informing the public about the implementation status of policies for small and medium-sized enterprises and local construction.

As for the future schedule of the outreach events, Li Hui-chih said that any relevant arrangements would be announced to the public.
