A younger brother, allegedly dissatisfied with his elder brother's nagging about his unemployed status, got into a drunken dispute and stabbed his elder brother with a knife. Fortunately, the elder brother is out of danger after being sent to the hospital. The younger brother surrendered himself after the attack, and the police are investigating the case as attempted murder.
Around 6 PM tonight on Ren'ai Street in Sanchong District, New Taipei City, a man was found lying in front of a betel nut stand with a large amount of blood next to him. The Sanchong Police Precinct rushed to the scene after receiving the report. Preliminary investigations revealed that 47-year-old Mr. Lin, who is suspected to be unemployed, was allegedly unhappy about being nagged by his 49-year-old elder brother. A drunken argument escalated, and Mr. Lin stabbed his elder brother with a fruit knife, causing penetrating wounds to his left forearm and right arm. The elder brother was conscious and was immediately sent to the hospital, fortunately without life-threatening injuries.
Police stated that Mr. Lin surrendered himself to the Cifu Police Station of the Sanchong Police Precinct after the stabbing. Officers arrested him on the spot and seized the fruit knife used in the crime at the scene. The entire case will be transferred for investigation on suspicion of attempted murder.
