(Central News Agency, Taipei, 14th, Reporter Tseng Jen-kai) Pan-International's first-quarter financial report is out, showing a net loss attributable to the parent company of NT$83.97 million, a reversal from a profit of NT$215 million in the same period last year and a net profit of NT$176 million in the fourth quarter of last year, with a net loss per share of NT$0.16. Pan-International explained that the first-quarter loss was due to customer shipment deferrals and rising copper prices, which led to a decline in revenue and profit margins.
Pan-International held an investor conference today, stating that in response to the operational impacts, it has requested customers to jointly share the costs related to order deferrals and is negotiating prices with customers to reflect the cost pressure from copper price fluctuations. It expects operations to significantly improve and return to profitability in the second quarter.
Looking ahead to 2026, Pan-International is optimistic that with the ramp-up of AI server shipments and the implementation of Axial Flux Motor (AFM) technology, a high-growth cycle will begin, maintaining its double-digit annual revenue growth target for the full year.
Earlier this year, Pan-International, along with its parent company Hon Hai, acquired a 52% stake in Belgian startup Magnax BV to enter the humanoid robot market. Pan-International stated that Magnax's AFM technology doubles the torque output and is half the size of traditional Radial Flux Motors (RFM), addressing the pain point of insufficient torque in humanoid robot joints, which prevents them from handling loads.
Pan-International announced today that its AFM product layout will start with air-cooled island applications for heavy-duty power plants, with revenue contributions expected by the end of this year, which will help improve overall profitability. (Editor: Lin Chia-hsien) 1150514
