Heavy Rain Floods Guangfu Township in Hualien; 6 Households Evacuated

Heavy afternoon downpours in Guangfu Township, Hualien County, caused the Madana River to overflow, leading to flooding in Dongfu Village and Fozu Street. The sudden rise in water levels trapped vehicles and flooded homes up to calf height. Local patrol teams successfully evacuated 6 households to emergency shelters provided by the township office. The county government has dispatched contractors to place sandbags along the riverbanks to prevent further flooding.
