KMT Legislators Propose Real-Name Registration for Hidden Cameras Following Clinic Peeping Scandals

In response to recent peeping incidents at medical aesthetic clinics in Taiwan, several KMT legislators, including Hsu Chiao-hsin and Wang Hung-wei, have jointly proposed a draft bill aimed at regulating hidden photographic equipment. The legislation mandates that the manufacturing, importing, and selling of such devices must be authorized, and buyers are required to register their real names. Legislators criticized the Executive Yuan for inaction despite earlier suggestions from the Taipei City Government, emphasizing the need for comprehensive nationwide regulations to prevent the misuse of pinhole cameras and protect citizens' privacy in public and consumer spaces.
