May Taiwan Stock Index Futures Drop 624 Points

(CNA Taipei, 15th) The Taipei stock market closed down 579.39 points today, ending at 41,172.36 points. The May Taiwan Stock Index Futures (TAIEX Futures) closed at 41,012 points, dropping 624 points, showing a reverse basis (discount) of 160.36 points compared to the spot market.

The Taiwan Futures Exchange set the opening reference prices for the near-two-month index futures contracts at 41,636 points for the May futures and 41,744 points for the June futures.

The Taiwan stock market ended down 579.39 points today, closing at 41,172.36 points, with a trading volume of NT$1.314108 trillion.

The May TAIEX futures closed at 41,012 points, down 624 points, with a trading volume of 92,788 contracts; the June futures closed at 41,183 points, down 561 points, with a trading volume of 3,872 contracts. Actual closing prices are subject to announcements by the Futures Exchange. 1150515
