Vigorous Convective Cloud System Development: Yilan, Hualien, and Taitung Advised to Beware of Torrential or Heavy Rain

(CNA, Taipei, 15th) The Ministry of Transportation and Communications' Central Weather Administration has issued a torrential rain advisory. Due to the vigorous development of convective cloud systems, short-duration heavy rainfall is likely. There is a chance of localized heavy or torrential rain in the mountainous areas of Hualien County today, and a chance of localized heavy rain in the Yilan, Hualien, and Taitung county areas.

Additionally, the Weather Administration has also issued an immediate thunderstorm message for Hualien, lasting until 1:13 PM.

The Weather Administration reminds the public to be cautious of lightning strikes and strong gusts of wind, to be wary of landslides, falling rocks, and sudden rises in stream water levels in mountainous areas, and to guard against flooding in low-lying areas. (Editor: Li Ming-tsung) 1150515
