Taiwan stocks fell 329.84 points to close at 41,603.94 on May 8th, as foreign and mainland Chinese investors became net sellers of NT$12.08 billion, ending a four-day buying streak. They reduced holdings in several active ETFs, market-cap ETFs, and memory chip sector stocks. The Yuanta Taiwan Growth ETF (00981A) saw the largest sale of 106,600 shares. Other significant sales included Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing (5903) with 59,000 shares, Yuanta Taiwan Top 50 ETF (0050) with 46,100 shares, Walsin Lihwa (1605) with 37,000 shares, and KGI Taiwan TOP 50 ETF (009816) with 31,900 shares. The top ten foreign sales also included Nomura Taiwan High Dividend ETF (00999A), Formosa Chemicals & Fibre, Qunyi Taiwan Strong Stock ETF (00982A), Taiwan Business Bank, and Nanya Technology. Meanwhile, domestic institutional investors (trust funds) were net buyers of NT$2.118 billion, marking their 13th consecutive day of buying. Their top ten purchases included Yageo Corporation (2327) with 6,097 shares, followed by Innolux Corporation, UMC, Holy Stone Enterprise, Nanya Technology, Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing, EVA Air, TSMC, WT Microelectronics, and Chicony Electronics.
